Heart Safe Program

What do Rochester, MN, Monterey County, CA, Cape Cod, MA, South San Mateo County, CA, and Casinos in Las Vegas, NV have in common?

They all have community-wide AED Programs and have all had a bystander grab a public access AED and save a life….or 2 lives…or 100 lives.

The safest place in America for your heart? Casinos in Las Vegas. They have increased their survival rate from the national average of 5% to over 70% by having AEDs accessible and quick response times through community training.

By placing AEDs in public areas, local recreation centers, public pools, schools, and police vehicles, communities are giving their residents the power to be a life saver. Community CPR classes, training at each AED equipped facility, and coordination with local 911 call centers are helping us increase the survival rate from sudden cardiac arrest (SCA). Funded by local healthcare organizations, grants, and donations, The Via Foundation can manage your Heart Safe Community Program and help you become a Heart Safe Community.
